When Immigrants Loved America

Preamble: The purpose of this blog is to briefly discuss the key points in Trump's immigration plan and contrast it with the abomination Obama and Congress saddled America with in seeking to fundamentally change her traditions, culture, and values. In my opinion this distinction is significant because America has always been the world's foremost destination for immigrants. Accordingly, the laws governing their admission are critical to the future of our country, ourselves and our children.

To put this in perspective, please indulge me for a few moments while I digress to Teddy Roosevelt's presidency between 1901 and 1909; the period during which the largest wave of immigrants to the U.S. were processed through Ellis Island.

Teddy Roosevelt and Immigration: Roosevelt loved America and was determined that immigrants seeking citizenship have undivided absolute allegiance to her in every way. During and after his presidency Roosevelt frequently spoke and wrote on that subject which was dear to him.

The theme of Roosevelt's writing and speeches on immigration was known as 'Americanization' and set forth dictates that he expected immigrants to adapt and use. Included therein were American culture, speech, political ideas, principles, and the distinction between church and state. Consistent with 'Americanization' on January 3, 1919, Roosevelt wrote the following letter to the president of the American Defense Society.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Immigrants meeting these expectations were of the character envisioned by Emma Lazarus in her epic poem, 'The New Colossus', carved on the Statue of Liberty's pedestal. She saw it as a beacon of hope to immigrants of diverse ethnicity and color, thus the words 'give me your tired, your poor...'.

They saw America as an exciting opportunity to fulfill their dreams and experience a better life with greater economic potential. Most entered the U.S. legally, took the requisite oath of allegiance, and strived to enhance her greatness through assimilation, hard work and learning the English language. These were the immigrants that seized the opportunity to enrich their lives and in so doing helped make America the greatest country the world had ever known.

Things Change: Immigration laws governing admission to the U.S. have undergone minor changes with the times, conditions, and political environments. Regardless of the changes however, each President cared about America first, and pursuant to his oath of office was consistent in endeavoring to do what he deemed to be in her best interest.

However, this 'America first' attitude dramatically changed during the tragic reign of Obama, whose past, words, and actions consistently evinced a deep rooted disdain for the U.S. and White people. His fundamental transformation of the U.S., which Congressional sycophants eagerly endorsed, was underpinned by subordinating her best interests domestically and internationally. A significant part of his transformation included immigration reform.

Immigration Obama Style: Obama wanted to flood America with and support hordes of non-White indigent tribal aliens, and had little interest in enforcing immigration laws relative to them. He facilitated his lofty goal by opening America's borders to that ilk of garbage thus virtually handing them an absolute right of entry into America with neither quotas nor meaningful health and background screening. Most of them were Hispanics and Middle East Muslims that every Gulf State refused to accept; both had allegiances and cultures completely different than and incompatible with ours, particularly Sharia law.

Obama's aliens viewed America in stark contrast to the typical Ellis Island immigrant who saw hope, opportunity to better themselves, and enhance the country. Specifically, his little darlings saw America as a welfare state ripe for picking, soft on crime, and whose laws permitted their extended families to immigrate to further exploit her system.

The majority of them were unskilled, worthless societal leeches with unknown backgrounds and medical histories. They had a total disregard for America's traditions, culture, values, laws, the environment, human life, personal hygiene and health. It should be abundantly clear that they fell far short of enhancing or adding value to America.

Note: As I have mentioned in previous blogs, Speaker Paul Ryan served as Obama's chief advocate for admitting and supporting his aliens for life with total indifference to the law. Ryan facilitated this by lying to and betraying the U.S. and Congress to pass the Omnibus Spending Bill, which was not in America's best interest. Trump's Immigration Policy: In keeping with his commitment to strengthen and make America great again, Trump wants to admit immigrants that will add value to and benefit America. For the sake of brevity, such immigrants are reasonably expected to love our country, accept her traditions, culture and values, assimilate, speak English, and have a skill set. This sound policy makes sense, benefits and makes America safer, and affords immigrants that meet the requirements an opportunity of a life time that is not available anywhere else in the world.

The Usual Outrage: The progressives, Trump haters in both parties, and MSM became unhinged by such an offensive, discriminatory, xenophobic, racist' policy. It is clearly the polar opposite of Obama's open borders policy they support, and blatantly violates their trite politically correct mantra of diversity and inclusion for all.

Predictably, this stellar group is incessantly leveling ad hominem attacks against Trump and demonizing him as being too Nationalistic. However, not one of the self-anointed elites has stepped up and articulated any real value that excluded aliens could possibly bring to America. Their absurd familiar claim, 'that's who we are', is a non-sequitur which I doubt resonates with the populous that elected Trump, or any person who cares about the future of America, themselves and their children.

Not surprisingly, Paul 'Judas' Ryan, who has stabbed Trump in the back at every opportunity, is among the most vocal Congressional Republicans vehemently opposing his immigration plan. Ryan's usual sniveling is expected because the plan is totally repugnant to Obama's policy of open borders and generous welfare benefits to all non-White tribal indigents for which he aggressively advocated.

America First: For the last 8 years America has been the sole dumping ground and easily accessible welfare repository for the world's tribal indigent aliens. There is absolutely no redeeming benefit to our country in this egregious scenario and it must stop now. Teddy Roosevelt had it right in his day and for the foreseeable future; Donald Trump is spot on today. If you agree please tell your Congress person to support Trump's immigration plan.

Bottom line, do you believe in President Trump's Immigration Policy? If you do, tell Congress, tell your Governor, tell everyone you see and speak to if this matters you, you'll talk about it, you'll tell about it, You'll do something about it! Please don't think this will fix itself, it won't!

"Yesah!" Thank you son for bringing my faith back in to some people, with your very informative "blog" The history of this great country is vital for us to survive. My Grandfather was one of those immigrants that Roosevelt spoke of. And yes he did make a "stake" in land which was offered during the time. He also brought my Mother in to the world on that piece of land, she and my father both fought in world war ll. To see what is happening to our country is disheartening and disgraceful. I will stand tall to defend our Liberty and pray daily as I raise the flag repeating the words I learned in school as we all stood with our hands over our hearts.... "One nation under God...."

Great Article! Thank you! The LIBS & Progressives have Corrupted politics for so long that it will take many years to repair the damage! Only look to Europe with the invasion of these Migrants by the Ignorant Liberal Ruling classes and equally Ignorant Liberal, Power hungry EU to see that Europe is no longer Europe! If HRC won we would of been a Socialistic disaster of maximum proportions in a matter of a few years!

For years I have found it disturbing to run across videos in other countries that had men or women preaching feverishly for their countrymen to hate Americans. Several years before The 2016 election I was seeing videos that were of masses of people in Mexico cheering with great enthusiasm to a message delivered by a man that was saying they were taking America back! He was talking to thousands and they were all hyped up happy about browning America. He was telling them to flood into America.
The same scenario almost with Muslims. They brag as they scream into cameras that they will breed the white race out! Seeing all of that had me worried and I became interested in what was going on in America. My eyes are wide open now and I hold our elected officials accountable. They are traitors to the voters. They sold us out although I wouldn't doubt if they were wolves in sheep clothing as they were running for their seat. And I think the reasons are worse than trying to gain a voter base because they still need to keep the Democrat voters they already had but have caused thousands of their voters to turn from them because they aren't taking care of Americans but instead are fighting for illegals, non Americans and every anti American policy. Americans can see the left is delivering crushing blows to American culture.
I wish I would soon read that there is a solution to the insanity that is trying to rule the world.

My parents came to this great nation in 1967 I was 9 years old we came legally my father refused any type of help he said Iam just thankful that was allow to come . I was tough that is my country. I agree 100% immigration must stop and if allow must be legal and with conditions that no food stamps or any type of help will be given, another thing no citizenship until 10 years of residency and evidence that you came here to stay and that America is first. We definitely need the Wall! We must support President Trump all the way!

I enjoyed reading this enlightening article! I was interested to learn that between the years of 1901-1909, were the years that the largest number of immigrants were processed through Ellis Island. My Grandfather, with his mother & 6 siblings left Sweden in 1904 to begin their new life in the USA. They learned to speak English, my Great grandfather secured a job in a local carriage factory. As stated in your article, immigrants arriving today no longer have the attitude of the earlier arriving immigrants. Today, they arrive seeking a hand out, which they're given. They will be the downfall of the USA.

They have conditioned the masses in accepting the Obama "plan" and they are too ignorant to realize that they are destroying our culture as we know it and giving away our country to our enemies!

Welfare and other benefits for immigrants--even ILLEGAL invaders--is just ANOTHER way the Commucrats are trying to cultivate a new voter base to replace the working middle class white Americans they have alienated beyond repair. Importing people who are illiterate, unskilled, and immediately get on welfare is NOT benefiting THIS country in any way. In fact, it is costing us hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars a year, and slowly bleeding us to death!

And yes, Paul Ryan is the MOST treacherous, lying SNAKE in Congress. I don't know WHY voters in Wisconsin did not PRIMARY his sorry behind last August when they had the chance! In fact, ALL the disloyal, back-stabbing RINOS who are sabotaging President Trump's agenda to repair the damage done by the rampant left-tard BS that prevailed during Obama's 8 disastrous years should be "PRIMARIED" at the first opportunity. It is WAY easier to defeat an incumbent in the Primaries, when less votes are cast and a determined voter bloc can have major impact. Besides, they DESERVE to be thrown off the government gravy train! They flat-out LIED TO US to get re-elected in 2016. AGAIN. Left-tards are always inventing new "rights" and "entitlements" to expand their base of dependents. Suddenly, immigrating to the US became a "right" for ANYONE with a notion to do so--even if they are terrorists, criminals, etc. That was NEVER the intent of our immigration laws!

By conning states into greatly expanding Medicaid and putting MILLIONS of people on it, Obama made it nearly impossible for GOP to repeal Obamacare, because they are COWARDS and won't do ANYTHING they think might offend their Commucrat colleagues or a possible voter base, even though common sense ought to tell them THESE voter bases they are courting will NEVER vote for them!

Bottom line? Democrats have gone SO far radical left-ward that NOBODY with any sense will vote for them, and they can't win an election without STEALING IT, and are now engaged in trying to build themselves a NEW base that excludes the working class white Americans they have alienated beyond repair, and courts race-baited blacks, illegals, Muslim imports and fringe groups like transgenders. They will say and do ANYTHING, and court ANY fringe group--no matter HOW subversive--to get and keep political power, which is ALL they care about. And they are quite WILLING to destroy the country in the process, because they're pushing us toward a totalitarian global dictatorship government, anyhow!
